EID GOH
Director

“I treat the client’s project as my own and focus mainly on end user experience.”

Eid Goh started his first architecture firm at age 24 with his university mates. The playful name they chose, Architects EAT, reflected their creative hunger.

For 20+ years, Architects EAT worked on ambitious and distinctive projects throughout Australia, especially in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors. Eid’s work with Architects EAT was recognised by the AIA Victorian chapter, the IDA Awards, the IDEA Awards and other leading organisations.

When Eid closed Architects EAT to create Air Design Studio, he knew this firm would embrace everything that made his last venture successful. He also knew that he wanted to build on these values to create something new.

One of Eid’s core values is putting the client first by taking time to understand their business objectives and how this can be achieved through innovative design. Another is the principle of thinking about architecture as a form of crafting experiences — not just buildings.

In Eid’s words, design stands or falls based on “storytelling”. What story does a space tell the people who enter it? And does this story align with the client's objectives? These questions guide him as he uses his photographic memory to vividly picture what it feels like to move through the spaces he envisions. His tireless commitment to crafting stories in spaces has earned him the reputation as one of Australia’s most distinctive architects.
